Mistakes that usually Presenters do.

Image
Often presenters do common mistakes which they are not even aware of but it has an adverse affect on audience. Due to speakers mistakes viewers are left in doubt about the topic and sometimes they have to struggle hard to understand what the presenter is trying to say. Here are some of the common mistakes that must be avoided to make your presentation stand out and clear your viewpoint: Presenter himself is sometimes unaware of the full topic of the presentation or is not enough prepared to explain it to anyone. So, it is always a good idea to practice and rehearse as many times till the presenter feels confident enough to present it and answer any questions that follows the presentation. Sometimes, speaker gets so nervous that in hurry to finish the presentation they talk nonstop and forget about listeners . They don't give enough time to listeners to grasp the information and understand it. Too long presentations demotivate the listeners to pay attention as the avera

How to make Presentation Slides more effective?

Image
Use of Visuals such as images, videos, tables, graphs etc. helps to understand the topic or data more quickly. Presenters make use of presentation slides that includes all of the above mentioned visuals and some text to make a topic clear to the audience.  Presentation slides should be made attractive to the audience but t he use of colours and fonts should be limited to only those which makes text easy to read . The focus should be on visuals and text needs to be reduced as much as possible. (Dave Paradi, Think outside the slide) Presentation slides should include only necessary information and not loaded with text because it makes it difficult to identify the most important figures from a large amount of data. Moreover, slides filled with data makes them more boring and disconnect audience from the main idea.  Slides must be kept smaller in length so that it allows more time for discussion and does not demotivate audience to sit for a longer time. How to keep Audience awake during the Presentation?

Mostly during the presentations one-third of the audience do not pay attention. Either they are so tired that they start falling asleep or they are engaged in thinking of something else related to their personal life. Every presenter wants his audience to be engaged because part of their job is to make viewers pay attention and consider what is being said . But for that firstly, presenter needs to be too excited about the topic he is presenting because that will fill him up with energy which will ultimately be transferred to the audience. Here are some of the ways which will help make audience awake:  Always start the presentation by mentioning about what you will be talking about, how it can benefit the listeners and for how long the presentation would be because this is the first question in the mind of every listener.  Explain the presentation in a flow , start with the very basic and follow along. Give some time to the audience to grasp one topic and make sure that they don

Build a Relationship with Audience

Image
I talked earlier about first impression through Professional look. If it goes out well, it would be easy to follow the second step, that is to build a relationship with audience. It is easy to withhold the audience till the end of the presentation and make your view point clear if their is a connection among audience and the presenter. Because the true meaning of giving a presentation is to engage with people and clear or inform about a specific topic but not providing tons of information which is not even useful to the listeners.                                                                                      (Stuart Ross, founder, High Growth) In spite of flooding audience with tons of information and explaining each data present in the power point, the presenter should provide only that information which is necessary to clear the viewpoint because the viewers can see the data in detail when a soft copy of the presentation is provided to them when it is over.   The

How Professional Attire affects your Presentation?

Image
A good Business Presentation is the result of Presenter's techniques and his qualities. Presenter's personality is the first impression of the presentation. Viewers often make an assumption of how the presentation would be through presenter's personality. In Formal Business Presentations, Presenter should look highly professional and should reflect the confidence he/she has. It also enhances the professional image of workplace environment and your personal brand. So, formal attire is as important as other things for delivering a good Business Presentation. To Dress up professionally, the focus should be on being elegant and polished . Usually, Business Formal is commonly known as full suit for both men and women. Men's formal attire includes matching pants and jacket, a plain button-up collared shirt paired with a tie. It is somewhat the same for women where a dress pant or skirt with a matching jacket is considered a professional look. What you wear is useful only
